Jozani Forest Tour

Jozani forest is a natural forest located 35km from Stone Town and about an hour and half from nungwi.

This forest is home to many indigenous wildlife of Zanzibar including the Red Colobus Monkeys. In the forest you can see the Civet Cats, Bush Babies, jumping Shrew, Red and Grey Squirrels, Elephant Sherews and an amazing array of butterflies and insects, flora and fauna.

There are 3 parts to the tour:

First you will scout around the forest with the guide, searching for the Red Colobus monkeys of which you have a guaranteed chance of seeing them and get quite close as they traverse the trees around you.

Second you will learn about the mangrove trees by walking along a raised board walk through the plants.

Third is an optional extra walk into the main forest itself. Appropriate shoes and hat are advisable.
