Stone Town Tour

The city tour will take you for around 3 hours of walking and wandering to the narrow streets of Stone Town.

We will start at the House of Wonders, the first tall building in East Africa and the first to have electricity. We then proceed to the old Indian dispensary and to Livingstone house where you will have a chance to discover a bit more about Dr. Living stone himself.

You will then continue to the hustle and bustle of the market (opened 1904) where local exotic fruits, vegetables and spices are sold along with fresh fish. We then continue to the Anglican Church (1873), which is built on site of the Old Slave Market.

We pass by the State House , Zanzibar Museum (1925), the High Court of Zanzibar, the first British High Commission , Jamhuri Garden and we end our tour at the Old Fort Building (1698-1701).

These landmarks together with the amazing history and culture of Zanzibar and Stone Town made UNESCO declared Stone Town as a World Heritage Sit.
